This is a crosspost of a write-up on the Propel blog I wrote documenting some of our work on two different tests of using AI to help people deal with SNAP case issues: specifically, finding out you didn’t get benefits this month, and figuring out what to do next.
I’ve done a lot of research and thinking about how to reduce the barriers that keep people from getting resources to address health-related social needs. This is so cool!!!!! I feel like it’s just the beginning. Would you agree? (Also - very timely.)
This is a fabulous write up, thank you for sharing!
I'd love to dive deeper into the findings. Did you all set up a structured A/B test to compare the 2 options (chat vs multi-step form) or were both experiments just compared against the current state? Our team is working on improving triage / support for self represented litigants (those faced with low-level misdemeanors) and have been wanting to run a similar experiment. Would love to learn from any qualitative findings you all may have uncovered as well. Thanks again! :)
